Weighing four pounds with fine wrinkles on her freckled face and missing patches of hair, Sweepee Rambo, a Chihuahua-Chinese Crested mix, has been named the World’s Ugliest Dog of 2016.
The 17 year-old pooch isn’t your usual adorable dog. Her looks are so odd and unique that he was awarded the World’s Ugliest Dog title on Friday night at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, California.
Owner Jason Wurtz has proudly described Sweepee as a pooch with “baby-soft freckled skin and legendary blond Mohawk”. The pooch’s looks reflects her personality quite well too and was described as a “ride of die chick” who loves riding with her owner on his Honda motorcycle.

The World’s Ugliest Dog contest has been running for 28 years. Last year’s winner was Quasi Modo, a German Shepherd who has short spine syndrome.
In this year’s contest, Sweepee Rambo competed with 16 other dogs. One contestant, Himisaboo, drew attention for a head of hair that has quite a resemblance to Donald J. Trump.

Just like normal beauty pageants, the doggie contestants strutted their stuff on the red carpet and stage. Three judges carefully chose their winner based on the dogs’ looks, personalities, and how the audience reacted.
Sweepee Rambo then bagged the title and won his owner $1,500 and a six-foot trophy.
The contest celebrates the dog’s lovable and awesome personalities and is intended to raise awareness about dog adoptions.
