Meet Gretta! This senior terrier dog who has multiple health issues got a second chance in life thanks to Vet Ranch!
Ten-year-old Gretta, who seems ti be a Norwich Terrier, was surrendered by her owners to a shelter because of her health conditions. She’s a senior dog who was not spayed. She had mammary tumors, a really bad skin problem, and nasty dental problems.
“She isn’t really adoptable and rescues are wary on taking these guys because the funds to fix them can get really pricey,” Dr. Wendy said. “So it’s either we take her and try to fix her up or she gets euthanized.”
Luckily, the dog landed at the right place – Vet Ranch!
Gretta was soon got spayed and had a huge lump in one of her breasts removed.
Just a day after her first surgery, the terrier dog showed so much improvement. She was a lot livelier and more active.
The pooch still had little lumps in some of her breasts which Dr. Wendy and her team took care of it during her second surgery. She also had her teeth cleaned.
The good news is that the masses found in Gretta’s breasts are benign.
Gretta soon recovered and has slowly revealed her fun-loving personality.
The pooch, who had been abandoned by her owners, is now living in a nice new home. She’s still on an adoption trial but we hope everything turns out well and she will be formally adopted!
Wishing you the best, Gretta!
Thank you Vet Ranch!
