In the video, a man can be seen hold the poor dog on her neck and back. The man, who looks pretty amused with what he’s doing, even looks at the camera and smiles before throwing her in the air. The poor dog’s piercing cries after hitting the ground can be heard in the video.

The people who watched the video thought the pup died but on Tuesday, animal rights advocate and Hotel for Dogs co-founder Shravan Krishnan, shared the good news: the dog is alive!

Now named Bhadra, which means “blessed” in Hindi, was found by Krishnan and his team who went to the area where she was thrown to look for her. In a post, Krishnan said Bhadra was shivering and peed out of fear when he first picked her up.

“She is not able to walk properly,” Krishnan wrote in the post. “What breaks my heart is that she was still wagging her tail.”

Krishnan even incorporated an appropriate hashtag about the dog’s story:  #BhadraTheWarrior.

The poor pup was immediately brought to Madras Veterinary College, where she is now recovering.

“She has sustained fractures in two places: her right hind leg and her spine,” Krishnan wrote in another post. “She is still in a state of considerable shock and is not being difficult to treat, and recovery is expected to take 4-6 weeks as she is still quite young; in fact, not more than 5 months old.”
