First, you may want to wash your pet outside.
These are things you will need:
- A quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide
- 1/4th cup baking soda
- A teaspoon or two of liquid soap
Mix everything together and apply the solution on your dog’s fur. The sooner you apply this remedy, the quicker your furry friend will feel better. The stink will be immediately gone. You should apply the mixture outside so as to not let the stink inside your home.
So how does it work? According to MythBusters:
The oxygen molecules in the soapy solution neutralized the skunk scent by bonding to those terrible thiols. By altering that chemical makeup, this stink-fighting antidote made the smell quickly disappear.
