The average height of a Labrador Retriever is 1 foot, 9 inches to 2 feet  weighing about 55 to 80 pounds. They have a lifespan of 10 to 12 years.

Originally bred to be a working dog and a family companion the Labrador Retriever is the most popular dog breed in the United States of America, Canada and Australia and one of the most popular dog breed from the entire world. He is extremely intelligent and highly trainable making him the perfect dog for a lot of jobs. The Labrador Retriever loves all the energy demanding activities like fly-ball, Frisbee, running, swimming and many others. If he is left alone more than a few hours a day he can become bored and might become very loud and destructive. The Labrador Retriever is a great watchdog because he is very reserved with strangers and will always let you know when a stranger is approaching your property. He is known to behave well when children are around but very small children should always be well supervised when they encounter any type of dog breed because they might have the tendency to tease and no dog will accept that. Obedience training and early socialization are very important in this case and can make a big difference. Overall the Labrador Retriever is probably the smartest and loyal companion that you can find.

Labrador Retriever Training:

Labrador Retriever is a very intelligent dog breed. This breed is probably the easiest breed to train in the world. Usually they enjoy any type of activity so training will not be a problem for them. In fact it can be something that they will really enjoy.

Labrador Retriever Shedding:

To be honest, the Labrador Retriever is shedding a lot of hair. You cannot do anything to stop this but if you want to prevent having hair all over your home you should do proper brushing every day. Keep in mind that with a proper brushing you will rarely find hair on your couch, carpets and other places in your home.

Labrador Retriever Grooming:

The Labrador Retriever, like many other dog breeds, need daily exercise. Don’t worry, those needs can be met quite easy with simple walks or playing some fun games. His coat needs to be shaped two or three months and proper brushing should be done every now and then.

Later the Lab became the most popular breed in Canada and United States and we all know what happened next: he became probably the most popular dog breed from all around the world.
