Summary:

The Puli was bred more than 2000 years ago and was mainly used as a herding dog. Nowadays he is becoming more and more popular as a family companion. The average height of a Puli is 1 foot, 4 inches to 1 foot, 5 inches weighing about 25 to 35 pounds. They have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years.

Overview:

Originally bred more than 2000 years ago to herd sheep and other livestock the Puli is an intelligent dog breed that likes being in a constant move. He has a high sense of humor and will always do all his best to entertain his owner and his family. The Puli loves all the energy demanding activities like fly-ball, Frisbee, running, swimming and many other fun games. If he is left alone more than a few hours a day he can become bored and might become very loud and destructive. The Puli is a great watchdog because he is very reserved with strangers and will always let you know when a stranger is approaching your property. He is known to behave well when children are around but very small children should always be well supervised when they encounter any type of dog breed because they might have the tendency to tease and no dog will accept that. Obedience training and early socialization are very important in this case and can make a big difference if you want to have an obedient dog.

Puli Training:

Puli is a very intelligent dog breed. They can learn new commands very quickly which makes them quite easy to train. Usually they enjoy any type of activity so training will not be a problem for them. In fact it can be something that they will really enjoy.

Puli Shedding:

Shedding should not concern you at all if you plan to buy this type of dog breed. In fact you will never find a hair in your house because the Puli is not a type of dog breed that sheds hair.

Puli Grooming:

The Puli, like many other dog breeds, need daily exercise. Don’t worry, those needs can be met quite easy with simple walks or playing some fun games. His coat needs to be shaped two or three months and proper brushing should be done every now and then.
