Boykin Spaniel Care
This dog breed requires regular brushing to prevent matting and tangling. Bathing should be done when necessary. It is important to regularly check the ears for debris or infection. The breed is prone to eye problems, hip dysplasia, skin and heart problems.
Boykin Spaniel Coat
The coat of the breed is of short to medium in length, straight to moderately wavy, and fine to the touch. This breed has light feathering on the ears, legs, feet, chest and underbelly.

This dog breed excels at agility and obedience. The breed has a softer temperament than most Spaniel breeds so does not respond to harsh or heavy-handed training methods. They do far better with motivational training and require fairness and consistency.
This dog breed is not suitable for apartment living. The breed requires daily exercise and mental stimulation or they tend to become bored and destructive. This breed is extremely driven and energetic and do best in a rural environment. This dog loves to hunt, swim and interact with their family.
